Youth and Young Adult

Coodinator: Ira Tigner

The Youth and Young Adult Ministry engages the youth in fun activities that foster spiritual growth.

WAVE- January 7-9, 2022
Prior to COVID-19, ROCK was an annual spiritual retreat for over 7,000 students in grades 6-12 in Ocean City, MD. Experiences included dynamic guest speakers, devotionals, small group sessions, prayer, and praise and worship, all designed to help youth gain a greater understanding of our salvation.

As the Baltimore-Washington and Peninsula Delaware conferences begin their affiliation, the youth of both conferences are already leading the way with the announcement of WAVE, a new retreat for youth, January 7-9, 2022 at the Convention Center in Ocean City.  The theme will be: Find Your Piece, based on 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV): Cast all your anxiety on God because God cares for you.

This retreat will replace the annual ROCK retreat and will feature speakers Heather Flies and Chrandis Singleton, concerts by Tedashii and Apollo Ltd., and worship led by Urban Street Level & Latrice Crawford. A Christian ventriloquist, Ryan & Friends, will also perform.

Registration and parental permission are required for this overnight activity. Look for more information as we get closer to the event.

The Youth and Young Adult Ministry is a Safe Sanctuaries program.
Safe Sanctuaries in s an effort to create a safe place for the most vulnerable of our church family and our visitors. All our volunteers undergo background checks and we do not allow anyone with a criminal background to work with our children, although they are welcome to participate in other areas of ministry. Safe Sanctuaries is a “social structure that is consistent with the Gospel” allowing our sanctuaries, classrooms, mission encounters, camps and retreats, and all spaces where we gather to worship and serve God to be in places of trust. You may learn more about Safe Sanctuaries here.
